1975 Land Rover 109 Series

The restoration was performed by Astwood 4x4 in South Birmingham, UK, under the direction of renowned Land Rover specialist Rob Astwood. This is a meticulously restored, numbers-matching 109 that retains its original components while benefiting from a comprehensive, ground-up overhaul.

Finished in its original Marine Blue, this example features the highly desirable and hard-to-find Tropical Top with alpine windows—an iconic configuration that collectors actively seek. The stance, finish quality, and panel fitment reflect the level of craftsmanship throughout.

Mechanically, everything has been addressed. The chassis was stripped and fully re-galvanized. The 2.25L petrol engine was completely rebuilt with all new components and ancillaries. The transmission and transfer case were fully rebuilt, and the axles were stripped, overhauled, and reassembled. It also received a brand-new suspension system, new brakes and brake lines, a new exhaust system, and a refurbished fuel tank that was flushed and refinished.

The body was disassembled and restored with new quarter panels, doors, fenders, grille, front wing assemblies, hardware, and weather stripping. All galvanized cappings were replaced, along with a new front galvanized bumper and updated lighting front and rear. The attention to detail is evident in every seam and surface.

Inside, the cabin has been completely refreshed with new carpeting, seats, door panels, hardware, seatbelts, and mirrors—creating a clean, factory-correct presentation while maintaining its classic utility character.

It rides on new Wolf wheels wrapped in Kingpin Mud Tracker tires, complemented by new mud guards, giving it the proper stance and capability expected from a true Land Rover.
